Serena Brahney is a writer-reporter-host hybrid, a hyper-hyphenate with a knack for interviewing and dropping sass. In front of the camera and in life, she is an indefatigable storyteller.

After graduating from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, Serena decided to eschew the advice of her sage professors, forgoing the TV newsroom for the fledgling world of digital media. Following many a bewildered day spent scouring Craigslist, she landed a hosting gig on a satirical news show for a little-known social networking site and figured she was taking the on-air world over. A multitude of web & TV positions later – in which she's edifitained the masses with personal finance, pigeon shooting (they were clay), and, yes, pets – Serena is as enamored of multimedia as ever. Her work has run the gamut from the super-scripted to entirely organic, and she’ll pitch, produce, develop and (attempt to) edit. She tends to offer unsolicited relationship advice. She wears multiple hats.

She also writes – about diamonds, boys and b-to-b marketing in the past, but now mostly about her insatiable appetite for all things culinary. A dining writer and restaurant critic for 944 LA and Cheeky Chicago, Serena’s also known to play consultant to her voracious social circle (plus a few degrees beyond). Her writing has been dubbed “food porn” by friends, her on-air segments “utterly addictive” by an awesome stranger, and her resto reviews “too complicated to read!” by her dad. She’s thinking of adding a supplementary glossary, or maybe utilizing fewer five-dollar words. Jury’s out.

Hailing from Chicago, Vancouver, Montreal and now LA, Serena suffers from both a serious case of wanderlust and an atrocious sense of direction. She enjoys talking to strangers, coining neologisms and salted chocolate.

When she's not in front of the camera or her MacBook, Serena can be found on the dance floor.
